Review of The Great Arch (2025)

Moving picture, 104 minutes

Seen in 2026.

An unknown Danish architect wins the open-call competition to design an important building for the 200-year anniversary of the French republic, but building it will be difficult.

A gorgeous satire about a dick-swinging competition between a set of upper-class twits. It’s played straight, as if Otto von Spreckelsen’s failure to waste even more taxpayer money on Carrara marble was somehow tragic.
