Review of “The Great Wide World Over There” (1953)
Ray Bradbury (writer).
Read in 2024.
Middle-aged Cora is jealous of her neighbour, because it looks like she gets mail. In all her years of jealousy, Cora has never wondered how that mail arrives.
As usual with Bradbury, the premises are weak and the execution sentimental, but if you manage to ignore the details, there is a glint of humanity in it.
