Review of The Lore of Arms (1976)

Read in the large, richly illustrated Wahlström & Widstrand edition with Swedish translation, as “Vapen genom tiderna”.
Even as a history book on its narrow topic, it could hardly have been useful, but the illustrations are enjoyable by virtue of the sheer clarity of their draughtsmanship on thick paper (over 0.1 mm per page). I bought this used in my 20s out of nostalgia: the same edition had been one of the most popular books among the younger boys in my childhood’s school library.
