Review of “The Prayer” (1911)

Text

Violet Hunt (writer).

Read in 2017.

A young wife prays that her husband, pronounced dead, should return. So he does.

Todorovian-uncanny horror. The prose is a little unsteady, with one trailing ellipsis too many, but the narrative is remarkably bold to rehumanize the man.
