Review of Varma hälsningar, Eric Ericson (2006)
The hobby of a Swede who works in advertising. He has sent thousands of letters to companies and every level of government, telling various lies. For instance, he has claimed to represent American interests to establish an Indian reservation in Swedish communities, and gotten many positive replies. He has also claimed to be arriving to the addressee soon, bringing a number of animals with him, and so on. Most of his letters are answered, revealing quite a lot about the way a bureaucratic society operates.
Inexpensive circumstantial personal portrait, starting with victims, childhood friends, then the man’s boss and sister, and finally the man himself. Right on the border between insanity and useful fun.
