Dice tower 2017, roof detail

The roof tiles are wood that I chipped off of Kapla staves, but the supporting studs and truss underneath the gabled roof are made of plaster cast in Hirst Arts moulds, like the fieldstone walls.

The outermost tiles are the most delicate feature of the piece, but they are positioned so that the tower can lay on its side without the thin wood chips carrying any of the weight.
