Mean rating by reviewer activity, Filmtipset 2021

A chart showing the personal mean of ratings on a scale of 1–5, set by reviewers on www.filmtipset.se.

On the x axis, 46646 unique reviewers appear, sorted left to right in order of rising activity, that is by their total number of ratings. The markers on the x axis, at 100, 1000 and 10000 reviews, indicate that the distribution of activity is not linear. There are only 21 reviewers on the extreme right, past the 10000 marker.

The y axis shows the personal mean rating set by each reviewer, and a running arithmethic average of those data points, in a moving 200-reviewer window to show the general trend. The running average is not weighted by the rising number of ratings moving to the right.
