Review of Get Out (2017)

Moving picture, 104 minutes

Seen in 2024.

An awkward meeting with your partner’s parents.

The black comedy and the great acting support the unusual tone of genuine social commentary in this horror movie. I especially like the scene of Rose as a cold femme fatal listening to pop while googling NBA players; it’s gently outlandish, at once unheimlich and as funny as Key and Peele (2012).
