Review of Leif (1987)

Moving picture, 108 minutes

Seen in 2023.

The small town of Rotum centers on a weapons factory. Its illegal international sales are revealed by a whistleblower in the local paper. Corporate management tries to dodge the police while public sentiment builds against the whistleblower.

A musical comedy about capitalist corruption. The comedic timing is off by fractions of a second, but the script could also have used another round of revisions, and less blackface would have helped represent the foreign victims of Swedish corruption. The satire on dansband is the best part.
