The deep dives of Last Week Tonight (2014) on the less-cluttered, giant-screened stage of The Russell Howard Hour (2017) and Homecoming King (2017), more closely resembling TED talks.
Decidedly the hippest, most youthful spin-off of The Daily Show (1996) at the time. Minhaj was every bit as good as John Oliver—actually less repetitive—presenting diverse topics and playing up his persona.
