Review of The Brothers Grimm (2005)

Moving picture, 118 minutes

Terry Gilliam (director).

Two charlatans work as witch hunters between the 18th and 19th centuries. Under fresh Napoleonic occupation in 1812, they discover an ostensible folkloric curse, like those they have pretended to dispel, but this one is real.

CGI fantasy adventure. Summer blockbuster. Very little of Gilliam’s quirks come out to play, but some of the fairytale material is in the spirit of the real brothers.
