Review of “The Type of Film I’d Like to Create” (1992)

Text

Miyazaki Hayao (writer).

Read in Starting Point.

A transcribed talk given to a year-six class in elementary school, i.e. roughly 12-year-olds, on the concept of worldview as it pertains to scale and animation.

The author does not mention Imanishi Kinji, but from my cursory reading of The World of Living Things (1941), Miyazaki is more influenced by that philosophy here than by actual physics.
