V for Vendetta (2005Moving picture, 132 minutes)

A mad superman wraps himself in theatricality to terrify and destroy a totalitarian British government in the near future.

Romantic masturbatory visual excess with some effective darkness, particularly V’s preserved plot to grant his sidekick’s wish. Moore is basically right: the film is diluted, Americanized and escapist by comparison to the comic.
