Suzuki Toshio
鈴木 敏夫 (Wikipedia) has kept some great directors on track. He met Takahata Isao and Miyazaki Hayao in the late 1970s, when he included a feature on The Adventures of Hols, Prince of the Sun (1968) in the first issue of Animage magazine to rescue the already old film from obscurity. I've applied the tag to works where he was the main producer, but you'd find him on committees and in associate production roles on Ghibli films before that.
