Ghibli
A tag for organizing content
Studio Ghibli (Wikipedia) is an animation studio, founded in June 1985 by Takahata Isao and Miyazaki Hayao, and dismantled as a permanent production house in 2014.
The studio’s films are typically quite credible, with unusual depth and originality in the level-headed writing, as well as high production values. Many are set a few decades or centuries back. The results frequently appeal to all ages, deservedly placing the studio at the forefront of Japan’s animated exports.
I use this tag to cover the studio’s films as well its “Studio Ghibli Library” imprint.
